A man from Milwaukee is facing up to 40 years in prison for the wrongful death of a Sussex woman. According to Patch.com, court records show that the 40-year-old man sold her drugs nearly every day for over a year. The 22-year-old woman died of a heroin overdose last June.

The woman was found lifeless by her mother one morning. She called 911 but the woman was unable to be resuscitated and was pronounced dead at the scene. The mother told authorities she had spoken with her daughter just the night before.

Police apparently found drug paraphernalia, including a used syringe, in the woman's bedroom. They also used her cellphone to track down the man who had been selling her drugs.

Police also talked to a friend who would allegedly assist her in buying the drugs. On the day of her final purchase, the friend apparently helped her buy $300 worth of heroin, which amounted to about 15 bags of the drug.

The woman apparently ingested the heroin in a gas station bathroom and called her friend, saying she'd overdosed. She apparently ran away from paramedics who tried to help her.

The man who sold her the drugs was charged with first-degree reckless homicide and was being held in jail on a $10,000 cash bond. In addition to facing 40 years in prison, he could also see a $100,000 fine. The charges were filed in Waukesha County Circuit Court, according to Patch.
