A motorcyclist from Wisconsin Dells was killed late Sunday in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident, according to news reports and the Sauk County Sheriff's Department. Reports detail that around 12:20 a.m. deputies and rescue crews were called to a motorcycle accident on Hillside Drive, just south of Lake Delton.

Once on the scene, deputies found a motorcycle driven by a 48-year-old man had left the roadway and struck a tree. There was no other riders involved in the crash. The man was not wearing a safety helmet at the time of the crash and suffered massive head injuries. As a result, Sauk County Coroner's officials pronounced the man dead at the scene shortly after authorities arrived.

Initial investigation of the accident leads police to believe that alcohol was a contributing factor in the accident. Emergency response units from Delton Fire and EMS and police units from Lake Delton Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol and the Sauk County Sheriff's Department also responded to this motorcycle accident.

In another un-related motorcycle accident in Wisconsin over the weekend, a 27-year-old man was killed on Saturday when he lost control of his motorcycle on 29th Lane north of State Highway 21, east of Redgranite in Waushara County. According to reports, the man was not wearing a helmet during the 1:50 a.m. crash. Following the motorcycle accident, the man was taken by Theda Star helicopter to Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah where he was later pronounced dead.
